Bloomington Refugee Support Network (RSN) Releases Multi-Lingual Website

The Bloomington Refugee Support Network (better known as the Refugee Support Network or simply RSN) released a comprehensive website to better serve the local community.  The RSN mission is to serve immigrants that fled violence abroad adjust to life in the local community. Our new website has several features that are unique to for our immigrant community:

  • Translation, at the touch of a button, of all pages into eight different languages (Arabic, English, Kurdish, Persian, Somali, Spanish, Swahili and Ukrainian)
  • Information not only on RSN services for refugees but also on other relevant service-providers in the community
  • Connection to RSN newsletters and social media
  • Success stories of local refugees as they assimilate into our community
  • Refugee news stories and recommended readings on refugees, asylees and migrants
  • A means of community-building for members of the public that wish to help refugees adjust to life in the local community

“The potential for this new refugee information-exchange site to benefit our newest international members of our community is immense” says Pete Lenzen, RSN Director.  “Bloomington is a very welcoming place for immigrants but what has been lacking is a way for both existing community members and new international members to connect.”

The website is available now at:  www.bloomingtonrefugees.org.  For more information contact info@bloomingtonrefugees.org via email or simply visit the site.

We wish to thank Indiana University-Bloomington and their ServeIT program for their assistance in preparing this website.
